Plant of the Month:
Tall Ironweed (Veronia altissima)

Plant of the Month:
New England Aster (Aster novae-angliae)

Plant of the Month:
Pickerel Weed (Pontederia cordata)

Plant of the Month:
Cardinal Flower (Lobelia cardinalis)

As you can see by these glorious photos, this flower offers a lot of colour.
The Cardinal Flower is a plant of the wetland edge - they like to have their roots 'flooded' occasionally or for long periods of time and prefer mostly sunny locations (but not full sun).

Where We Use Cardinal Flowers
Most of our garden creations in the Garden Menu that include water, will use Cardinal Flowers. This includes the 'Complete Backyard Biosphere', the Wetland Plant Meditation Pool, The Dragonfly Pond and several others.

Next Month's Featured Plant...
Pickerel Weed (bet you just can't wait).
